About Our Water Company
The Lake Wallenpaupack Sandy Shore Water Company is a cooperative association formed to own, maintain, and operate the water system in the Sandy Shore Development. This water system was purchased from the developer in 1982. Water and related services are furnished to members on a non-profit basis.
Membership
Any person or persons owning or contracting to purchase land in the Sandy Shore Development or homes connected to the water system before January 1, 1982, are eligible for service from the Water Company for residential use only. Each recipient is subject to the Lake Wallenpaupack Sandy Shore Water Company by-laws and must comply with all rules and regulations established by the Company.
Government
The Board of Directors manages Water Company affairs. The Board comprises a President, Treasurer, Secretary, and six other members elected at the Annual Meeting. This meeting is held on the Saturday closest to Memorial Day. Any person who is a member of the Company and is in good standing is eligible to be a candidate for election.
